Honorary Captain

The Amerks have partnered with UR Medicine’s Golisano’s Children Hospital for the Honorary Captain Program for another season, where one child who has spent significant time in the hospital is nominated and selected for an all access VIP experience.

Emmy Valentino – 11.29.19

Everyone meet Emmy Valentino a bubbly and confident 12-year-old girl that at a young age began to defy all the odds that were stacked against her and is this season’s first honorary captain thanks to UR Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Jake Almeida – 12.6.19

Amerks fans it’s time for you all to meet this vibrant and wacky six-year-old boy, Jake Almieda. Jake was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, overcoming many obstacles up until this point in time helping build his proud and confident personality which in turn made him the perfect fit in the Amerks locker room as their honorary captain.

Dylan Baldassare – 12.27.19

Meet Dylan Baldassare, this incredible kid was born with spina bifida, scoliosis and hydrocephalus and has been through more than any of us could ever imagine possible. But because of his amazing family Dylan is continually smiling through whatever he may encounter and with every challenge he overcomes his hospital support staff is always right there to celebrate.

Husayin Ross-Simmons – 1.10.20

Amerks fans, it’s time to meet Husayin Ross-Simmons – a five-year-old rocking one of the coolest haircuts around and loves to make new friends, with a journey that began at just four days old.

Owen Shepard – 2.22.20

Let’s take some time and meet Owen Shepard Amerks fans. This young man is just four years old and was selected to join in on the fun of our Amerks Honorary Captain Program presented by UR Medicine’s Golisano’s Children Hospital.
